Mr. Alty was born in Peekskill, New York. At the age of 5 he moved to Lynchburg VA where he spent the next 17 years. He attended and graduated from EC Glass High School, then went to Europe with his family for 6 months. He attended Central Virginia Community College for 2 years and moved to Florida when he was 22 years old where he worked in construction for 2 years.

He was hired by Father Michael Hughes, Principal of St John Neumann High School in August of 1986 at the young age of 24. He worked as he does now, doing whatever the principal asks him to do. He began working with the IT department in 1996. His skills with computer hardware were beneficial to the school. As the technology needs of the school have evolved, Jeff has been instrumental in bringing about the positive changes.

He likes to work on computers even as a hobby. He sees them as miraculous and is fascinated by them. He also likes to ride motocross and street bikes and loves to play in the mud with his truck and dirt bike. Mr. Alty also enjoys canoeing and camping in the 10,000 Islands with his family.

Mr. Alty has worked at Saint John Neumann for 23 years and has seen the place evolve. It’s a great school and a wonderful work environment.
