Mr. David Burns – Dean of Students, Weight Training
Faculty Information
Born in Boston, MA, Mr. Burn’s family is originally from Watertown, MA and moved to Tewksbury, MA in 1973. He graduated from Tewksbury Memorial High School where he was a two-year starter as a defensive back on the varsity football team and a one-year member of the track team. In 1986, he graduated from Bridgewater State College in MA with a B.S. in Physical Ed concentrating on teaching grades 5-12 and earning his teaching certificate. Mr. Burns served as a graduate assistant, assistant varsity football coach and recruiting coordinator at Bridgewater State College in MA. He also taught elementary and middle school Phys Ed, and was the head middle school football coach and assistant track coach at Gulliver Academy in Coral Gables, FL. He then became the JV football coach at Gulliver Preparatory School in Miami, FL. and eventually became the head strength coach and assistant varsity football coach. He was inducted into the Tewksbury Memorial High School Athletic Hall of Fame as a member of the legendary 1976 Merrimack Valley conference Co-Championship football team on April 5, 2002. In 2005, Mr. Burns joined the St. John Neumann community as the Dean of Students.
