Faculty Information

Coach Howey has served as Head Coach of the St. John Neumann Celtics since 2003. He holds a winning record on the gridiron since coming to St. John Neumann and has been instrumental in assisting several athletes earn scholarships to play football in college.

Originally from New Jersey, Coach Howey has made South Florida his home since 1986. Prior to coming to St. John Neumann High School, Coach Howey was the Head Coach of the Gulliver Preparatory School Raiders football program, leading them to 4 district championships, a regional championship, and a state championship.

Coach Howey has an outstanding career record and state playoff record. Additionally, Coach Howey was named District Coach of the Year four out of the seven years he served as Head Coach for the Raiders. In 2006, Coach Howey received the Florida Athletic Coaches Association District 16 Coach of the Year honor. He has also held assistant coaching positions in track and field, girl’s and boy's basketball and baseball.

Coach Howey holds a BA in Sports Administration from St. Thomas University, where he played varsity for the university. In his spare time, Coach likes to spend time with his family, wife Eileen, daughters Alexa, Cailen, and Amber. The family enjoys playing tennis, going to the beach, and traveling.
