Many companies offer a Matching Gift program that can greatly increase the impact of their employee’s personal contributions without increasing the obligation of the individual donor. Be sure to ask your employer about their Matching Gift program. Many companies offer a matching gift program dollar for dollar, with some doubling or tripling matching gifts. Simply obtain a matching gift form from your Human Resources office, complete the appropriate section of the form and send it to St. John Neumann Catholic High School with your gift. Planned & Deferred Giving
St. John Neumann Catholic High School's planned giving program gives you the opportunity to make a lasting gift to the school. A variety of options are available which enable you to make a significant gift to help ensure St. John Neumann Catholic High School's future. In some instances, while realizing certain tax advantages, you will also be able to produce income for yourself and your heirs.
Deferred gifts are the result of careful planning that integrates a donor's charitable gift into his or her overall financial, tax and estate planning objectives so as to maximize benefits for both the donor and St. John Neumann Catholic High School. Planned gifts typically come from a donor's assets rather than income and can be outright gifts, deferred gifts or a combination of the two.
Each of the deferred giving instruments listed below is closely regulated by law and requires special arrangements and tax treatment. For more in-depth information, please contact Donna Heiser, Director of Development at 239-455-3044, extension 225 or dheiser@sjnceltics.org

Qualified retirement/IRA funds can be a significant gift upon death of donor. Estate and income tax savings may cover a substantial portion of the gift.
Consider an IRA Rollover
Why not consider an IRA Rollover to benefit St. John Neumann Catholic High School. IRAs can be a good option when deciding to make a charitable gift. The Pension Protection Act (PPA) exempts from taxable income any funds transferred from an Individual Retirement Account (IRA) to a charitable organization and can have significant tax incentives for donors. A potential gift to St. John Neumann Catholic High School may be deducted from income that could otherwise be subject to tax under federal law. This provision will be made retroactive to January 1, 2008 and will apply to gifts made from that date through December 31, 2009. The following limitations apply:
- The donor must be age 70 1/2 or older
- The cap on annual IRA rollovers is $100,000
- The contribution must be a direct gift to a charity (no planned gifts)
The Pension Protection Act excludes gifts to donor advised funds, private foundations, and supporting organizations, but encourages gifts to approved non-profit institutions like St. John Neumann Catholic High School. The transfer to St. John Neumann Catholic High School must be directly from your IRA to be eligible. Please consult with your financial advisor in order to take the maximum advantage of this charitable opportunity.
If you have questions or require additional information please contact Donna Heiser, Director of Development at 239-455-3044, extension 225 or email her at dheiser@sjnceltics.org.
The Importance of Using Professional Counsel
